Record of meetings – Jake:

The third meeting was held on Friday the 22nd again at approximately 3.15pm in the UWE library. Everyone attended being Will Smith, Jake Bell, Ben Caygill and Matthew Wincott.

Discussions- Will:

During the second meeting we further discussed the micro and macroeconomic factors effecting Reading Festival and improved on our piece of work. We did this by adding more information and added useful references to back up our ideas.

Progress report- Matt:

Again a lot of progress has been made in relation to researching the micro and macroeconomic factors of the festival industry. There has now also been a good amount of progression regarding the infographic.

Individual contributions – Ben:

Will – Contributed some improvements to the macroeconomic factors for the festival industry.

Jake – Contributed some improvements to the microeconomic factors for the festival industry.

Ben – Contributed the initial thoughts for the CFS work and shared this for the infographic.

Matt– Contributed additional work for the infographic and showed everyone the plan.

Action points – Will and Ben:

–              Further progress on the infographic.

–              Continue to get the work in before the deadline.

Record of meetings – Jake:

The first meeting was held on Friday the 8th at approximately 3.15pm in the UWE library. Everyone attended being Will Smith, Jake Bell, Ben Caygill and Matthew Wincott.

Discussions- Will:

During the first meeting we discussed the topic of festivals and unanimously decided on Reading festival due to our previous experiences of being there and our knowledge of the industry.

Progress report- Matt:

So far, we have chosen our topic and started to look into the treats that face Reading festival from being successful. Treats such as weather and other festivals have been identified and the process of looking at these factors in greater deal has begun.

Individual contributions – Ben:

Will – Contributed the topic of festivals and Reading festival by Harold Pendleton as our company.

Jake – Organised a group chat via Snapchat as well as sorted out the time we would meet each week which is 3pm every Friday in the library.

Ben – Contributed the threats that face Reading festival such as ‘weather and other festivals like Wireless’ and calculated how they impact the events.

Matt- Contributed information regarding Reading festivals target market and other organisational factors like when the festival takes place to maximise people attending (mid-summer seeks most amount of people).

Action points – Will and Ben:

  • Going forward we need to take a deeper look at the micro and macro factors that face the festival as well as the market using statistics and data.
  • Unite all work into a standard group format we all agree with to make a uniformed presentation.
  • Complete affecting factors, TOWs and CSFs sections within two weeks through our meetings (22nd February)

The second meeting was held on Friday the 15th again at approximately 3.15pm in the UWE library. Everyone attended being Will Smith, Jake Bell, Ben Caygill and Matthew Wincott.

Discussions- Will:

During the second meeting we discussed the micro and macroeconomic factors effecting the industry as well as introducing a TOWS analysis for the industry relating to Reading Festival.

Progress report- Matt:

A lot of progress has been made in relation to researching the micro and macroeconomic factors of the festival industry. There has also been lots of progress regarding the completion of a TOWS analysis for Reading Festival.

Individual contributions – Ben:

Will – Contributed the macroeconomic factors for the festival industry.

Jake – Contributed the microeconomic factors for the festival industry.

Ben – Contributed the full TOWS analysis of the festival industry and shared it with the group in the meeting.

Matt- Contributed his first thoughts on how to tackle the infographic and how we should present it.

–              Start to making more progress on the infographic.

–              Keep up to date with workshop and lecture material.
